Apologetics

From the Greek word, apologia, apologetics is the disciplined defense of a position and is the word used for being able to give reasons for one's faith. In the Bible, 1 Peter 3:15 says:

"but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;"

Answers in Genesis is a website offering a reasoned rationale for a Biblical Worldview from the very beginning. For the open-minded thoughtful Christian, this is a good place to start, especially if you want some clarity about foundations.

The website Apologetics 315 was a recent delightful discovery in my quest for growing my faith. I have found the podcasts and articles not only illuminating in themselves, but they lead me to other very helpful resources which further stretch.

  1. We should be able to make a reasoned stand for our faith. Unfortunately, I feel few are ever persuaded by argument alone. But to study and show thyself approved is more for the foundation of the believer themself. To give them a solid bedrock to rest their faith upon.

  5. Apologetics is vital. To explain what we believe as Christians is so important, especially in the culture we live in today. Great post.
