Y is for Yearn

Yearning - to long for, to pine for, to passionately desire.

                              "Yearn" (Shane & Shane)

A picture of Yearning:

As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So my soul pants for You, O God. Psalm 42:1

How lovely are Your dwelling places, O Lord of hosts!  My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord;  My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.  Psalm 84:1-2

  1. Glad you're still here, Maria. I have always loved Psalm 42:1. It's so beautifully worded and poetic to the ear, and rich with truth. There are times when only God can satisfy a hungry heart and this is a good reminder. I hope you enjoyed the A-Z. I recall you were having second thoughts. Take care!

    1. They are. The Psalms do fill the yearning soul with praise for the Lord, even as they give you a picture of that yearning soul. Thanks for coming by, Lee and thanks for coming up with the idea of the challenge. God bless, Maria

  5. The song was lovely. Great word to use for "Y". We've all yearned for something at one time or another, especially God.

    1. Yes we do. And we all have a hole within that only God can fill. It's that hole that yearns to be filled. God bless, Maria
