E is for Encouragement

Whether or not you’re a Christian, the Bible has a lot to offer in the way of words of encouragement.  These are worth exploring and contemplating and applying.

I am working on committing to memory some of those right now.

“… Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”  Hebrews 3:13

Do you think it is important to encourage others?  Why?  Where does that sense of morality come from?  I encourage you to think about that.

  2. The Bible encouraged me yesterday, as a matter of fact, when they read the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead at Mass. Then the sermon really hit home on a couple of points, and the encouragement of it all has been an amazing uplift all day today. Yes, it's important to encourage others, and it's also important to be gracious and thankful when people encourage us too, so thank you :)

  5. Hey Maria! I think we might have connected two years ago on the A-Z and here it is again. I still have you in my blogroll. :-) I've learned a few things about the A-Z since that first year. Nice to find you on the list again. Encouragement is the best thing we can do for each other!

  7. We are all brothers & sisters. We are all "In this together." It behooves us to help and encourage one another. As we lift each other, we also rise higher, becoming more Christ-like. Gail

  8. Dear +Maria Dunn, what an encouraging post!

Yes, I try to encourage people to my best ... even if the people is just me. It is okay and necessary to be able to encourage ourselves first, before we can do so for others. In the past, my encouragements to others (especially a family member) were sometimes perceived as nags ... looking back I view it as a reminder for me to learn how to share my encouragements in a tactful manner too ...

    GBU! Happy Easter 2014!
