Insecure Writer's Support Group |
Thanks to Alex Cavanaugh, there is a place to go for insecure writer's like me. Visiting those who link up there though, I find that even among the insecure I am out of my league. However, the great thing about the blogging community is that there is no shortage of encouragers. So I am grateful for the opportunity to expose my vulnerabilities to those who will only help me through them. Thanks in advance. Can you pick up on my insecurity already?
You see, I am always two steps behind the technological revolution of the day. I don’t mind that and in fact I rather like it. However, I am afraid I am two steps behind in other things as well. I feel rather behind the power curve in blogging, two steps behind in my writing aptitude, two steps behind in keeping up with what I should know in both of these skills. So sometimes, actually, I usually feel quite out of my league. Confessions of an insecure writer/ blogger. There it is.
You and me both. I feel like I've focused on my technical deficiencies for several weeks now. Love/hate relationship.

Thanks Arlee, for commiserating. God bless, Maria
DeleteI bet you aren't nearly as behind on any of it as you think you are. Just by having a blog and successfully posting on it you are ahead of the curve.

Ah Shannon, from you I consider that a real compliment. I feel like I have learned so much from you from your A to Z posts and visiting your blog. Thanks so much. God bless, Maria
DeleteFortunately there are plenty of people out there who can help! It is a lot to learn.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex, and you are certainly one of those people who I feel like has already helped. You are an inspiration. God bless, Maria
DeleteHi! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. Don't worry - I'm sure we all feel like that sometimes! I have never got my teeth into the whole blogging thing and as for the rest, I'm still learning as I go along. Writing really is a journey - enjoy it! One thing I've learned is that you can't rush it :-) Nice to 'meet' you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda for returning the visit. And thank you for the encouragement. Like I said, I have found blogging friends really know how to encourage. Appreciate meeting you too. God bless, Maria
DeleteI feel like I'm always 2 football fields behind in just about everything. Better late than never, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting; great to meet you in blogland.

Thanks for commiserating Robyn and thanks for returning the visit. God bless, Maria
DeleteHi, welcome to the insecurity club. You might be behind the curve on the technological side, but I suspect that you don't have as much to be insecure about your writing as you feel! Thanks for sharing and all the best to you in your writing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris. I can tell from visiting your blog that I could learn a lot from you. Appreciate the kind words. God bless, Maria
ReplyDeleteI think every writer can confess to feeling this way. There are some amazing bloggers out there, full of enthusiasm, advice and support for their fellow writers, so there are many places you can learn new tricks and gain some confidence. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI agree Angeline; there are some amazing bloggers out there. Thanks for stopping by. God bless, Maria
ReplyDeleteI haven't read many of your posts, but you seem to have a good handle on things. Experience seems to be the best cure for insecurity, and I imagine if you tried to teach a brand new blogger how to do something you would discover that you are not as many steps "behind" as you think you are. When I first started blogging about five years ago, I knew absolutely nothing, not even how to start a blog. I don't think I am much further up the knowledge ladder until someone asks me how to do something, and I am surprised to actually know the answer! The great thing is that Google knows just about everything and is willing to share. :) Happy blogging, and I am looking forward to reading more from you on the AtoZ challenge!

Thank you for your encouragement. God bless, Maria
DeleteI've only just joined ISWG and yours is the second blog I've read but I so identify. I've learned so much since starting along the writing path that sometimes I wonder whether I will ever remember it all! One thing I have learned - there's so much to learn, no-one will ever, ever be fully up to date :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree. So very much to learn that we will never stop learning. That's kind of exciting really, I think. Thanks for stopping by. God bless, Maria
ReplyDeleteYou, me, and a couple of thousand other writers. Pleased to meet you, Maria. You're in the right place. Come sit for awhile and we'll get to know each other. Honestly, you have a great voice. Looking forward to hearing more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Joylene. Yes I do feel in the right place just being in the blogosphere. So many wonderful people to learn from. Thank you for your kind words. God bless, Maria
DeleteNo matter how far you go, you'll always feel like you're a few steps behind. Just the fact that you made it this far means you're still ahead of a lot of others.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the IWSG!
So true Ken. I never quite feel like I am ahead of the game. There are always steps to take ahead. I guess that isn't a bad thing as long as you don't let it be and continue to get excited about what you are learning along the way. Thanks for stopping by. God bless, Maria
DeleteI've been doing this a long time and I still feel 2 steps behind. Some days I'm 4 steps behind. But lately I'm noticing no matter how bad or insecure I feel, I'm not so far behind that I'm out of sight.
ReplyDeleteHappy IWSG, Maria!
True enough, Joylene. Thanks for the encouragement. God bless, Maria
